The highly anticipated NITA Conference is set to take place on September 26, 2024, at the iconic ICC Belfast, just a day before World Tourism Day.
This year’s conference will also kick off the inaugural Tourism and Hospitality Week! In partnership with Tourism NI and Hospitality Ulster, we’re excited to bring you a week-long celebration packed with events across Northern Ireland, featuring the incredible people and businesses that make our industry shine.
This year’s global theme, “Tourism and Peace,” couldn’t be more timely or relevant. Following last year’s celebration of the 25th Anniversary of the Good Friday Agreement—a milestone that highlighted tourism as a key driver of positive change—we’re now poised to dive even deeper. Join us as we explore how tourism can be a powerful force in fostering peace, bridging divides, and promoting reconciliation across communities, cultures, and traditions. This is a unique opportunity to envision how tourism can continue to shape a brighter, more united future for the region.
Following a welcome from our Chair, Judith Owens, MBE, our keynote will be given by the Minister for the Economy, Conor Murphy, providing valuable perspectives on the future of tourism in Northern Ireland.
Session 1 – Political tourism: The challenge of interpreting conflict and its legacy, presented by William Blair, Director of Collections National Museums NI
Session 2 – The Role of Councils in supporting the development of regional tourism
Session 3 – Dynamic Pricing on Trial, presented by Robin Cantrill-Fenwick, CEO Baker Richards
Session 4 – Fireside Chat with Tourism Ireland and Tourism Northern Ireland
