The Minister for the Economy, Conor Murphy launched this consultation which outlines proposals to strengthen employment rights legislation which will help deliver his good jobs agenda. It is a comprehensive consultation which is grouped into 4 themes:
- Terms of Employment.
- including how best to limit or restrict the use of zero hours contracts and associated practices.
- Pay and Benefits.
- including fair and transparent allocation of tips, gratuities and service charges and holiday pay calculation
- Voice and Representation
- examines the issues which affect good workplace relationships, trade union operations and the democratic structures in workplaces more generally.
- Work-life Balance
- including flexible working/carers leave/paternity leave
NITA, in partnership with HATS, have organised a briefing by CFR on the consultation outlining what is included across the different themes and facilitating a discussion with members to inform our submission.
