Good Jobs and Employment Rights Consultation

The Minister for the Economy, Conor Murphy launched this consultation which outlines proposals to strengthen employment rights legislation which will help deliver his good jobs agenda. It is a comprehensive consultation which is grouped into 4 themes:

  • Terms of Employment.
    • including how best to limit or  restrict the use of zero hours contracts and associated practices.
  • Pay and Benefits.
    • including fair and transparent allocation of tips, gratuities and service charges and holiday pay calculation
  • Voice and Representation
    • examines the issues which affect good workplace relationships, trade union operations and the democratic structures in workplaces more generally.
  • Work-life Balance
    • including flexible working/carers leave/paternity leave

NITA, in partnership with HATS, have organised a briefing by CFR on the consultation outlining what is included across the different themes and facilitating a discussion with members to inform our submission.
