Northern Ireland Tour Guides Association

The Northern Ireland Tourist Guide Association (NITGA) has been in existence for 30 years and is the only professional organisation of its kind in Northern Ireland.

In 2017 the Association registered as a private company with a limited guarantee and is a non-profit organisation. The company is administered by a Board elected by members. We are accredited by the Institute of Tourist Guiding and are members of the Federation of European Guides and the World Federation.

NITGA offers professionally trained guides who provide first class tours to a wide and varied range of visitors and has built up excellent contacts in the tourism and hospitality sector and are well regarded in the industry.

NITGA recognises the changing needs of visitors who have varying interests and the importance of experienced Guides delivering the correct historical information in an unbiased, enjoyable, and memorable way which can determine whether visitors return and also recommend a visit to friends & family.

Guides are trained to the highest standards and members undertake the Continuous Professional Development (CPD) programme provided by the organisation during the Autumn months.

NITGA’s website is continually updated to represent the growing number of Guides and their specialist areas of expertise.
