NITA welcomes Ministerial decision to halt rates REVAL 2026

The Northern Ireland Tourism Alliance (NITA) has welcomed the Finance Minister’s decision to pause the business rates revaluation process.

NITA will now write to the Finance Minister, John O’ Dowd, to urge continued engagement to ensure Northern Ireland has a rating system that supports investment, jobs and the long-term competitiveness of the tourism and hospitality sector.

Chair of NITA, Joe O’ Neill, said tourism is one of Northern Ireland’s most important drivers of economic growth, supporting jobs and investment in every council area.

“A business rates system that is fair and proportionate is essential to ensuring tourism and hospitality businesses can continue to invest, grow and compete with other UK regions and the Republic of Ireland,’’ added Mr O’Neill.
