Joe was appointed NITA Chair in September 2025. As Chief Executive of Belfast Harbour, his leadership has been instrumental in developing the Harbour as a key hub for trade, tourism and advancing regional prosperity.

Joe also plays an active role in civic and business leadership across Northern Ireland. He is
Chair of the Simon Community, Chair of the Belfast City and Region Place Partnership, and
serves on the boards of Business in the Community, Belfast Chamber, and the British Ports
Association, among others. He is also a member of the Tourism Partnership Board.
His diverse experience and collaborative approach will be critical as NITA continues to lead
the conversation on tourism’s role in shaping a sustainable and competitive future.
